Hi there, visionaries and adventurers! Today, I’m thrilled to present to you a selection of places that have captivated our hearts and thoughts. As a lesbian pair, we have aspirations of traveling to locations that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also possess a certain charm. These top 6 scenic destinations in the world, in our opinion, are must-see natural sites for everyone, especially couples looking for unique experiences.
Peru’s Rainbow Mountains
A stunning sight, the Rainbow Mountains lie tucked away in Peru’s Andes. These geological wonders, the multicolored mountains, are formed by mineral deposits that have produced stripes of different colors. Although we haven’t hiked these trails ourselves, we’ve heard that getting to the summit is rewarding and tough, offering really breathtaking vistas of the Andes, making them one of the world’s top natural wonders.
Turkey’s Pamukkale Thermal Pools
These Turkish hot waters, also referred to as the “Cotton Castle,” have an otherworldly setting. The terraces have a snow-white appearance because they are composed of calcium carbonate. It’s thought that the warm waters have therapeutic qualities. Although we haven’t been into these pools just yet, we’ve always wanted to soak in their mineral-rich, warm waters, a part of the ultimate landscape travel guide.
Northern Ireland’s Giant’s Causeway
This ancient volcanic explosion produced over 40,000 interconnecting basalt columns, which make up this natural wonder. In addition to being a natural wonder, the Giant’s Causeway is rich in mythology and is considered one of the iconic natural landmarks. We yearn to stroll these hexagon-shaped stones and experience the enchantment of bygone eras.
Namibia’s Skeleton Coast
The ethereally stunning Skeleton Coast is located where the Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. This terrain, well-known for its shipwrecks and bones, narrates historical tales. We desire to see firsthand the striking contrast between the ocean and the desert dunes, a truly unforgettable scenic location.
Turkmenistan’s Darvaza Gas Crater
This flaming natural gas field in Turkmenistan is a sight to behold, often referred to as the “Door to Hell.” Ever since it was set on fire in 1971, the crater has been burning nonstop. We hope to witness the bizarre sight of the flaming glow against the night sky one day, a spectacular natural view.
Australia’s Lake Hillier
A natural wonder, this pink lake is located on Middle Island in Western Australia. The abundance of algae and a high salt content contribute to the lake’s peculiar pink color. It’s a location we only see in our dreams, seen from above where the vivid color contrasts exquisitely with the blue water and surrounding foliage, making it one of the world’s best nature spots.
Although we haven’t had the opportunity to visit any of these places yet, they are all at the top of our global landscape bucket list because they each have something special and enchanted to offer. We hope you find inspiration in this list as much as we do!
